I always look forward to a contest, especially at this time of year, when the changing weather is so inspiring.

I love a prompt and a wordcount challenge too! #FallWritingFrenzy is open to all non-agented writers: BB, PB, CB’ MG’ YA and GN.
​
We had a choice of thirteen powerful images to write about, in any genre. Maximum length: 200 words and spookily, mine ended up bang on!
​
It’s been so refreshing, to write for an older age group. And I will be doing more of that in the future.
But the absolute best thing about taking part, is the interaction with other writers. Making new connections and finding inspiration in all the stories posted on each writer’s individual blog.
​
So, I can’t wait to read all the entries. And subscribing to more writer’s blogs too!

Skelepop’s Weekend Disaster
Skelepop were a successful group back in the day, with four number-one songs -

Save Your Tears
In fact, it was rumoured that new pop artist, The Weakend grew up listening to Skelepop.
And Skelepop had inspired many of his hit songs!
But these days Skelepop barely made The Graveyard News.
“Perhaps it’s time to retire!” said drummer, Skully.
“No way! Still life in these old bones.” replied lead singer, Morty.
Then the phone rang.
It was their manager, Dee Ceased!
“Time to shake, rattle and roll,” she said. “You’re going on tour with . . . wait for it . . .
THE WEAKEND! You must start rehearsals straight away!”
So, Skelepop shook, rattled, and rolled through the night, until . . .
. . . all that was left of them was a heap of bones!
WEE-oww-WEE-oww!
Thankfully, Dr Bonaparte was on duty, and they all made a full recovery!
“It’s a shame we missed our comeback tour.” Skully said, as he chewed on a spare rib.
Morty agreed. “Have they replaced us yet?”
“I believe so. Someone called Jon Bone Jovi!”
“Never heard of him!” said Skully.
